Local School District Partners with Goodwill to Offer Valuable Training to Life Skills Students

The Forest Area School District is working with Goodwill to bring new opportunities to their students through the Goodwill Works Educational Partnership. The Goodwill Works Educational Partnership allows Goodwill to bring work readiness and on-the-job training to high school students in Life Skills classrooms. The East Forest and West Forest schools have a very special partnership with Goodwill. There are no stores or donation centers near the schools, so Goodwill is bringing the on-the job training to them.

Blue donation bins have been placed in the school parking lots for clothing and shoe donations. The donations collected will help to fund the Goodwill Works Educational Partnership in the schools.

The donations collected will be processed in the schools, and the students in the Life Skills classes will learn how to process, price and sell the clothing. Students will also receive customized in-classroom instruction from Goodwill Employment Specialists to improve their job-readiness skills.
